Just felt to slow for my taste, it didn't happen to truly catch my eye and the story suffered greatly because of that. Particularly those tender moments with Sonic and Amy.
What the Crap. It was alright in my opinion atleast if it's the first part and close to your first animation. Let's get onto a list of things I have some small beef with:
1. The Animations and Sounds were to Repetitive, making the fight seem undramatic and more or less one guy was letting the other beat the crap out of them and then having an epiphany to counter-attack. (Shadow just shot bolts at Knuckles and then got punched in the face with no kind of reaction, kind of the same thing with the laser attack. ) If any two enemies are engaged in combat seeking victory I bet they would apply as many tactics as possible, dancing around their opponents style to try and piece together a victory by countering the opponents counters to their counters. In other words, if your going to have two people fight, Make them atleast try to kill eachother. MAKE IT DRAMATIC JEEZ!
2. Keep with the theme of the Characters for the moves, Shadow wouldn't just fire bolts down at Knuckles he'd probably try to get in close and take advantage of Knuckles slow but powerful punches by using alot of Chaos Control and projectiles while Knuckles would constantly be defending himself ripping up bits of the earth and pull Shadow into a strong uppercut, something like that. Not just two guys with Dragon Ball Z-esque powers doing one hit... one hit... one hit... If it's Shadow Vs. Knuckles, apply what they would do when they try and kill eachother to. ( That Rhymed. I should Rap. )
3. This Part is Uselessly miscellanous. (Did I spell that Right? Oh well) BWWEEEEEHHHH. Also get some music in the background, fights are alot more epic if there is a beat to stimulate the viewers ears. Seriously. See MK vs. SF 3, best current Sprite Fight out there and take some examples from it, Driven Characters trying to kill eachother the best way they can with Epic Music cool effects and great use of each characters individual abilities.

Scorpion Vs. Ryu
I just wish some of the Timing of the Supers was tweaked a bit so it felt more Epic,
that would just blow my mind. It's hard to describe.
Either way, taking two of the greatest fighters and icons from both series of games was a great Idea for a fight and it tied into MK vs. SF3 Well.
Moaar.
